Content Review (CRP) Policy

CET has a very robust policy of review its content through routine testing of web pages and the content. Since this is a website which has information and data for public and Govt. Departments etc. The website is frequently reviewed in order to provide up to date information to its users. Monitoring of website is done on regular basis.

Contingency Management Plan

Contingency plan in the event of defacement / natural calamity

The website of a Public Sector Undertaking is its presence on the Internet and it very important that the site is fully functional at all times. It is expected of the Public Sector Undertaking websites to deliver information and services on a 24x7 basis. Hence, all efforts should be made to minimise the downtime of the website as far as possible.

It is therefore necessary that a proper Contingency Plan MUST be prepared in advance to handle any eventualities and restore the site in the shortest possible time. The possible contingencies include:

Defacement of the website:All possible security measures MUST be taken for a Public Sector Undertaking website to prevent any possible defacement/hacking by unscrupulous elements. However, if despite the security measures in place, such an eventuality occurs, there must be a proper contingency plan, which should immediately come into force. If it has been established beyond doubt that the website has been defaced, the site must be immediately blocked. The contingency plan must clearly indicate as to who is the person authorised to decide on the further course of action in such eventualities. The complete contact details of this authorised person must be available at all times with the web management team. Efforts should be made to restore the original site in the shortest possible time. At the same time, regular security reviews and checks should be conducted in order to plug any loopholes in the security.

Data Corruption: A proper mechanism has to be worked out by the concerned Public Sector Undertaking, in consultation with their web hosting service provider to ensure that appropriate and regular back–ups of the website data are being taken. These enable a fast recovery and uninterrupted availability of the information to the citizens in view of any data corruption.

Hardware/Software Crash: Though such an occurrence is a rarity, still in case the server on which the website is being hosted crashes due to some unforeseen reason, the web hosting service provider must have enough redundant infrastructure available to restore the website at the earliest.

Natural Disasters: There could be circumstances whereby due to some natural calamity, the entire data center where the website is being hosted gets destroyed or ceases to exist. A well planned contingency mechanism has to be in place for such eventualities whereby it should be ensured that the Hosting Service Provider has a 'Disaster Recovery Centre (DRC)' set up at a geographically remote location and the website is switched over to the DRC with minimum delay and restored on the Net. Apart from the above, in the event of any National Crisis or unforeseen calamity, Public Sector Undertaking websites are looked upon as a reliable and fast source of information to the public. A well defined contingency plan for all such eventualities MUST be in place within all Departments/organisations so that the emergency information/contact help-lines could be displayed on the website without any delay. For this, the concerned person in the Department responsible for publishing such emergency information MUST be identified and his/her complete contact details should be available at all times.

6 Steps to Study in India

1Register & Get SII ID

Student filling Study in India registration form on his phone

The decision to study in India is in itself an exciting choice and development for an individual's choice of education. At the same time, finalising a choice of a discipline can be a wider option. In the end, opting for the right destination to pursue higher education is vital for having a rewarding educational journey. But students can end their quest as India is one such destination! The quality of education offered by India's Higher Education Institutions makes India an attractive destination for education. The higher education ecosystem of India is simple, comprehensive, consisting of around 1100+ Universities to 4500+ colleges with autonomy and affiliated status. The state-of-the-art institutes equipped with modern facilities impart curriculum in interactive and holistic learning process, making learners an ideal choice for international students wanting to study abroad.

In order to facilitate easy access to the education landscape of India, the 'Study in India' Program steps in and extends complete support to the international students. The 'Study in India' is a flagship project of the Government of India's Ministry of Education, which hosts international students seeking higher education through its 600+ partner institutes offering more than 8000+ diverse courses in disciplines such as Engineering & Technology, Management, Agriculture, Sciences, Arts & Humanities, Language Studies, Commerce, Law, Paramedical Sciences covering Pharmacy, Nursing, and select niche courses like Buddhist Studies, Yoga, etc. Furthermore, they are available in different levels, from Undergraduate (Bachelors), Post-graduate (Masters), Doctoral level (PhD) and certification-based courses. Due to the availability of an array of options (in courses), the students have the flexibility to choose the course of their interest and study in premier Indian institutes.

Furthermore, the process to get on board with the Study in India is relatively easy and can be done through its online application submission, seeking admission to students' choice of programs, & further processing of applications for seeking admission.

Students can get started right away by completing the 1st step to apply, i.e. registration, by clicking on the 'Register Now' tab. The students are required to fill in simple details such as name, country, date of birth, mobile number and email ID. Please note, while registering, the students also need to create passwords for future login. Upon registration, students will receive a unique SII ID that will be exclusively for use for them only and cannot be transferred or used for another candidate. This may be used at all times to access information, status of application and details. The email Id and the password created at this step become the login credential of the students and they should note it for future reference.

Every student aspiring to complete their higher education in India and applying to study in India MUST have their unique student SII ID as this ID is what will help them to access their dashboard, track the progress of college and course applications, Visa/e-Visa, and other higher education in India-related processes. No student SII ID means no chance of studying or moving to India.

2 Explore from 8000+ Courses

Students planning their budget to attain affordable education

Once the students have registered themselves on the Study in India, the next step is selecting the best-suited universities and colleges for their future growth. And before they can apply for the same, Students have the freedom to peruse, explore, and select from more than 600 prestigious institutions that are registered under the Study in India program, and many more are being enrolled under this program regularly, which offers a wide variety of more than 8,000 courses.

Students can go through our comprehensive database of courses offered and institutions offering those courses to explore their options. From Photonics to Vedic Sciences such as AI & ML, Medicine, Agri Business, Pharmacy, Law, Yoga, and many more, students can select which one suits their interest the most. Moreover, there are immense STEM courses available through our website. Opportunities in the STEM sector include a wide variety of job roles in industries like aerospace engineering, astrophysics, biochemistry, chemical and civil engineering, computer science, nanotechnology, robotics, and more.

Good news is that students can apply to multiple institutions of their choice, based on their preferences and future goals. There are no limitations to the number of Institutes or courses a student can select. And as soon as the student clicks on the "Show Interest" button for the course, the application is sent directly to the Institute. Hence, the students are not even required to give preferences to courses or institutes. We recommend applying to a minimum of 5 institutes/courses to increase the odds of getting admission. Aspiring students can login to their Student Dashboard as well to check out all the available courses & the eligibility of the institutes.

3 Submit Application

Student submitting application form online

Once the students have registered themselves on Study in India, the next step is completing the application. The process of application filling is the most significant step as the students are required to apply to their course of choice in their preferred institute. While applying for the courses, students are recommended to do thorough research about institute rankings, fee structure, facilities, etc. before arriving at the final decision. To begin the application filling process, students need to first log in to the Student Dashboard (on the Study in India website) with the credentials provided at the time of registration. The application is divided into three sections, namely- Basic Information, Academic Information and Course Choice. Once the students fill in all the details and provide necessary documents across the sections, they may proceed to the select courses.

BASIC INFORMATION

In this section, students are required to fill in simple yet important details such as name of the student as it appears in passport, contact number, address particulars. Please note that all the details provided by the students in this section should be correct and must be the same as mentioned in their passports or government IDs. All the student details like country, guardian details, passport details/ citizenship no. etc. needs to be mentioned in the basic details section.

ACADEMIC INFORMATION

In this section, students need to provide the details of their academic qualification and additional exams (like IELTS, SAT, etc.). In addition to these details, they need to upload scanned copies of their qualification documents, photo, and signature. If students have several additional exams documents, they can compile them in a single PDF document and upload.

COURSE CHOICE

Then comes the final step of applying to your choice of course in your preferred institute. This step needs to be done with the utmost attention and according to past qualifications and interests. You can apply to as many courses and institutes you like. There is no restriction in applying nor there is any application fees to the courses & institutes on Study in India website. The higher education institutes of India offer a diverse range of courses across many disciplines. The host of courses provided in these institutes cater to diverse interest areas of students. Therefore, to choose the course of their liking and to study in their dream college, students need to fill in the right choices. Once the student has come across their preferred course in the institute of their choice, the student needs to click on the "Show Interest" button for the course, the application is sent directly to the Institute. Hence, the students are not even required to give preferences to courses or institutes. Additionally, students should make sure to apply to as many institutes as possible to increase their chances of getting their desired course and finally submit the application before the closing date. Please note that the final offer letter received is done on the basis of choices filled by the student, so they must be cautious while providing all the details across this section.

Do keep on checking your registered email ID, as some institutions may also ask for extra details and documents as part of their requirement and acceptance process. If you receive any such mail from your preferred institute, send them the required documents in time to be considered for the course. Also, institutes can ask for online interviews before granting an offer letter. Hence, students should be prepared for the same as attending the interview is a must.

4 Get Multiple Offer Letters

Student feeling happy after seeing his grade

After the students have filled in the basic and academic information and submitted their application after selecting their choice of courses, they get a step closer to pursuing higher education in top-notch Indian institutes, students need to wait for the result declaration to know about the allotted institute and course. Students are advised to regularly check their student dashboard and email IDs using their unique SII ID for any notification or update. The result contains essential information such as the Allotted Institute, Discipline, Qualification, Program Level, Specialization, Fee Waivers and Institute Action Status. Please note that the allocations mentioned in the result are entirely based on merit (and choice priority) of the students.

After the institute allocation or result declaration, the applications of provisionally shortlisted students are automatically forwarded to the Study in India partner institutes for review and verification. Until the partner institutes review the applications, the 'Institute Action Status' will be pending. The students will be notified whether the concerned institute has accepted them or not. Further, if the allocated institutes accept the students, the offer letters will be uploaded on the Student Dashboard, confirming their admission. Then comes an important step - accepting or rejecting the offer letter. The students should carefully go through the offer letters before arriving at any decision. While accepting the same, they must keep in mind to take note of necessary details like the type of financial assistance granted, the fee structure of the concerned course, the last date of confirming admission, the start date of classes, etc.

The duration in which institutes may get back to the students with their response may vary and differ from institution to institution. Hence, the students are advised to be patient and wait for the best.

Doctoral (PhD) programs involve in-depth research for 3–5 years and require a postgraduate degree for admission. Students work under faculty supervision and must submit a doctoral thesis.

Students must confirm eligibility requirements for each course and institution, especially for short-term and certificate programs. These can be verified through the Study in India portal.

Please Note: NRIs are eligible to apply for the 'Study in India' program but are not eligible for the SII Scholarship.
